Most of the advice on how to create a culture of long-lasting employee engagement might seem familiar - except for one suggestion...

"...in this tech age taking time to (hand)write a personal note shows real leadership and thoughtfulness"

According to NBRI.com a hand-written letter is 1 of 4 sure-fire ways to boost engagement among your staff.

As a Poetry Jockey I have over 15 years experience of hand-writing and storytelling as a means to connect people.

Even on a microlevel, appreciation is high, as evidenced by the exceptionally positive responses I receive from my twitter followers (see picture below).

Imagine, they are not even my employees.

I call these Memorable Moments of Interaction #MMOI

To me this is one of the nicest and most precious examples of being rewarded for following your passion.

Some years ago the Poetry jockeys were invited (as guests) to attend the opening of a new extension of the Uberhip Fashion Trade-fair Bread & Butter Berlin.

Together with PJ Rob we drove to Berlin little we knew it was going to be one of the worst ever car trips, Amsterdam - Berlin.
